The following pictures are from a Baptism ceremony that I was able to attend. The lady (with the purple head scarf) holding the baby in the first picture holds the baby throughout the entire ceremony. I believe she is similar to a "Godmother."
At the end, the baby is dressed in all white.
The mother waits outside during the ceremony. After the baby is dressed she is given to her mother, and the priest finishes the ceremony with a blessing for the mother and baby.
